{"id":7920,"date":"2025-11-12T11:22:01","date_gmt":"2025-11-12T10:22:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ffl.lu\/?post_type=projets&#038;p=7920"},"modified":"2025-11-17T10:28:23","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T09:28:23","slug":"doume-vocational-training-and-apprenticeship-centre","status":"publish","type":"projets","link":"https:\/\/ffl.lu\/en\/projets\/education\/doume-vocational-training-and-apprenticeship-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Doum\u00e8 vocational training and apprenticeship centre"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>In 2009, the foundation invested in the municipality of Z\u00e8 by building a vocational training centre to address the lack of training facilities in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, this centre was handed back to the community under the administrative supervision of the Beninese Ministry of Secondary, Technical and Vocational Education and is now <strong>autonomous<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2021, the R-FFL and the foundation have been involved <strong>in the construction of a new centre<\/strong> in the municipality of Savalou, more specifically in Doum\u00e8. This centre enables <strong>young people aged 15 to 22<\/strong> to <strong>train in a particular field<\/strong> and obtain a <strong>Certificate of Professional Qualification<\/strong>, meeting the needs of the local labour market. The centre currently has 46 students, 24 of whom are studying mansonry and 22 building electricity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In 2024, the centre continued to expand with the opening of a third course: sewing<\/strong>. Construction of the workshop officially began on 7 October 2024, and by the end of December, 60% of the work had been completed. A delegation from the FFL headquarters visited the workshop site during a field mission in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students in the first two courses benefited from a <strong>professional internship in the third term<\/strong>, providing them with practical experience that will enable them to set up their own businesses after completing their training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All students also benefited from medical and social care,<\/strong> in partnership with the Savalou health centre, ensuring comprehensive support throughout their training.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Benin, like many developing countries, faces high unemployment, particularly among young people.
