Im Jahr 2019 gibt es die Lepra immer noch.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Armut, aber auch der Mangel an Hygiene und Nahrung machen ihre Existenz unvermeidbar.<\/p>\n

Heute noch erkrankt alle 2 Minuten eine Person auf der Welt an Lepra. Zum Vergleich: 2 Jahre, 3 Monate, 4 Tage, 15 Stunden und 21 Minuten w\u00fcrden reichen, um die ganze Bev\u00f6lkerung Luxemburgs anzustecken.<\/p>\n

Auch wenn es ruhig um die Krankheit geworden ist, ist Lepra immer noch aktuell. Das Bezwingen jeder Krankheit ist wichtig, aber man sollte diejenigen nicht vergessen die weniger in der \u00d6ffentlichkeit pr\u00e4sent sind.<\/p>\n

Obwohl es noch keine Impfung gegen Lepra gibt, ist eine Behandlung m\u00f6glich. Jeder an Lepra erkrankte Mensch kann versorgt und behandelt werden und seine Zukunft kann so gesichert werden. Eine Fr\u00fcherkennung erm\u00f6glicht es, den schweren Behinderungen, die diese Krankheit verursacht, vorzubeugen.<\/p>\n

Tats\u00e4chlich wurden in den letzten Jahrzehnten\u00a0<\/strong>zahlreiche Fortschritte erreicht. Bis heute konnte\u00a0<\/strong>die Fondation mehr als 600.000 Leprakranke\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>unterst\u00fctzen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Damit es aber nicht dabei bleibt, f\u00fchrt die Fondation Follereau Luxembourg den Kampf gegen Lepra fort, und erweitert ihr Wirken auf andere vernachl\u00e4ssigte tropische Krankheiten, \u00fcber die man viel zu wenig spricht, und das im Togo, auf Madagaskar, in der ZAR und in Guinea. Aber auch im Benin, wurden 2017 mehr als 1.500 Patienten untersucht. Dies hat uns erm\u00f6glicht die Krankheit fr\u00fch zu entdecken und so einer Ausgrenzung aufgrund der Krankheit entgegen zu wirken.<\/p>\n

Buruli-Ulkus zum Beispiel, ist durch eine einfache Antibiotikabehandlung heilbar, wenn die Erkrankung in einem fr\u00fchzeitigen Stadium festgestellt wird. Die Schwere der physisch behindernden Folgen h\u00e4ngt vom Moment des Ausbruchs der Krankheit und dem Beginn der Behandlung ab. Aufkl\u00e4rungsund Sensibilisierungskampagnen sind also notwendig, um das Aufkommen neuer F\u00e4lle zu reduzieren.<\/p>\n

Herr Ralaizaty (hier links) zum Beispiel hat dank dieser Versorgung Lepra besiegt. Seitdem unterst\u00fctzt er unseren lokalen Partner bei der Fr\u00fcherkennung anderer Kranken, und macht so aus seiner Erfahrung einen wahren Vorteil im Kampf gegen die Stille, die diese Krankheit schafft.<\/p>\n

Raoul Follereau hat gesagt: \u201cDer Leprakranke\u00a0<\/strong>leidet an 2 Krankheiten: Er hat Lepra und er ist\u00a0<\/strong>auss\u00e4tzig.\u201d Alles das ist noch nicht vorbei. Aber\u00a0<\/strong>es kann es werden.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Fortschritte der Medizin sind derzeit sehr vielversprechend, aber der Kampf endet nicht hier. Es ist wesentlich, weiterhin gegen dieses Leid zu k\u00e4mpfen, damit die Kranken und die Geheilten nicht mehr ausgeschlossen werden.<\/p>\n

Dank Ihnen und Ihrer unerm\u00fcdlichen Unterst\u00fctzung, ist es keine Utopie mehr von der endg\u00fcltigen Ausrottung dieser Krankheiten zu tr\u00e4umen.<\/p>\n
