\u00ab To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow.\u201d  <\/em>-Maya Angelou<\/em><\/p>\n

In Europa wird Mutterschaft im Allgemeinen mit Freude und Hoffnung assoziiert. Dieses Gl\u00fcck kann aber auch zu Zweifeln und manchmal sogar zur Angst f\u00fchren, ihm nicht gerecht werden zu k\u00f6nnen oder das Kind zu verlieren. Anderswo in der Welt ist diese Realit\u00e4t viel pr\u00e4senter. Auch heute noch sterben t\u00e4glich etwa 830 Frauen an Komplikationen in Verbindung mit Schwangerschaft oder Geburt (Quelle: WHO). Doch jede Frau sollte dieses Gl\u00fcck genie\u00dfen k\u00f6nnen, ohne von einem v\u00f6llig vermeidbaren Schicksal bedroht zu sein.<\/p>\n

Bereits am Montag, dem 20. Mai, in einer Vorschau im Luxemburger Wort-Shop ausgestellt, werden dann von Montag, dem 10. Mai, bis Donnerstag, dem 20. Juni, zw\u00f6lf Originalkunstwerke in der Maison Breedewee zu sehen sein. Der Raum ist von 17.00 bis 18.00 Uhr f\u00fcr die \u00d6ffentlichkeit zug\u00e4nglich (au\u00dfer freitags).<\/p>\n

Diese Ausstellung feiert die afrikanische Frau, die allzu oft auf das Bild eines Opfers von Elend und Unterdr\u00fcckung reduziert wird. Als Sophia Rein die Projekte der Stiftung entdeckte, beschloss sie, sich auf die Eigenschaften zu konzentrieren, die diese Frauen in ihr inspirieren: Kraft, W\u00fcrde, Fr\u00f6hlichkeit, Zartheit, Gelassenheit… Trotz ihres schwierigen Lebenskontextes sind diese Frauen entschlossen und positiv. Um all ihre Facetten zu feiern, hat der K\u00fcnstler Kompositionen mit hellen, lebendigen und kontrastreichen Farben geschaffen. Eine wahre Ode an das Wohlwollen und die weibliche St\u00e4rke.<\/p>\n
